Effect of holding time on the properties of porous ceramics with high-volume polished slag and its pore structure characteristics

Poor utilization of ceramic polishing slag and uneven foaming at high temperatures are some the crucial problems associated with formation porous ceramics. To overcome this, present study was designed to prepare closed-ended ceramics by controlling holding time. Scanning electron microscope, XRD, X-CT were used investigate effects time on microstructure, pore structure, phase composition The results showed that had a great influence physical properties samples, it provides uniform porosity without significant change in material Under 30 min, volume density reached up 0.68 g/cm 3 , while water absorption apparent 27.33% 15.49%, respectively. compressive strength 13.07 MPa, size distribution is mainly between 25 μm 100 μm, which d30 diameter accounted for about 28%, d50 25%, d70 12%, d90 10% distribution. In conclusion, clearly shows structure can be effectively controlled using slag. feasibility studying inside verified.
